SSPA Scientific-Practical Materials Research Center of the NAS of Belarus was established in 2007 by the decree of the president of the Republic of Belarus. The main goal of the Center is to organize and conduct research and development work in the field of physicochemical materials science, development, and mastering the production of new types of competitive products.
The main directions of the Center’s scientific research include condensed matter physics and the creation of new magnetic, ferroelectric, semiconductor, metallic, superconducting, and optical materials.
Additionally, the center develops magnetic, electromagnetic, and radiation shielding.
The most recent international project that used the center’s electromagnetic shielding was BepiColombo (a joint mission of ESA and Jaxa launched in 2018).
