GK Launch Services is an operator of commercial launches that was established in 2017 as a joint venture of Glavkosmos (subsidiary of Roscosmos) and private international space company Kosmotras. The foundation of new antety was made by the decision of State Space Corporation Roscosmos to implement commercial contracts for the launch of spacecraft using Soyuz-2 family launch vehicles from the Russian spaceports.
GK launch Services is using three launch sites: Vostochny and Plesetsk in Russia and the Baikonur in Kazakhstan.
One of the key international projects of Glavkosmos is a joint Russian-European program Soyuz in Guiana Space Center, where Glavkosmos is the main contract integrator for all the Russian rocket and space industry entities involved. In March 2021, the company conducted their first fully-commercial mission launching 38 satellites for 18 countries including South Korea’s CAS500-1 remote sensing satellite.
