Ural Research Institute of Composite Materials (UNIIKM)

Joint Stock Company Ural Research Institute of Composite Materials was formed on the base of the Ural branch of the Central Research Institute of Material Science in 1992 and is one of the leading manufacturers of products from composite materials.

The institute specializes in developing products from carbon, ceramic, and polymer matrices. The enterprise has a wide range of equipment covering the entire development cycle, from the manufacture of frames to their sealing with pyrocarbon and mechanical processing. Among the company’s core developments is a high-precision parabolic antenna from polymer composite materials reaching up to 5 meters in diameter. The Institute participates in various projects dedicated to rocket and space technology: “Morskoi Start,” “Proton,” “Topol-M”, and other projects within the scope of the state defense orders.
