The company was founded in 1711 by the decree of Peter I as a cannon foundry. But as of today, the Arsenal Machine-Building Plant JSC is a leader in the development and production of new gun mounts and launchers being a weapon for the Russian and foreign country navies such as India, Vietnam, China, and Indonesia.
The plant is also specialized in the field of space-based technology development. Arsenal is involved in spacecraft manufacturing for the earth’s surface radiophysical research, as well as for studying the physics of distribution of the electromagnetic waves.
Additionally, it has mass-production of electro-hydraulic steering gears for the thrust vector control of Russian RD-180 liquid-propellant rocket engines used on the American Atlas series of the launch vehicles.
