PJSC Krasnogorsky Zavod (KMZ Zenit) was founded in 1942 and is one of the leading enterprises in Russia in optical and optical-electronic instrument engineering. It has a unique long-term experience and has provided development, tests, and serial production of devices and systems for various spheres. The aerophotocamera, constructed at the plant, was used to take the first picture of the back side of the Moon.
Today, Krasnogorsky Zavod’s key focus areas are the development and creation of optical-electronic control devices for space programs, systems for the Earth’s surface monitoring, and optical-electronic devices for armored vehicles and small arms, photo equipment, and medical equipment.
