The company was founded in 2021 by Anton Alekseev and Ilya Babenko – the winners of the “Leaders of Russia” contest organized within the Russian president’s initiative called “Russia is a country of opportunities.” New Cosmos positions itself as the first Russian private New Space company.
The goal of the enterprise was to implement various projects in space and digital fields for Russia’s innovative and technological development and the development of international cooperation. The company’s three key competencies include designing and developing small satellites, developing digital services, and developing educational content. Among the company’s recently announced plans are the development and launch of the satellite constellation with a blockchain network capacity.
In 2022 New Cosmos plans to design the first spacecraft and start its assembly.
